Unbridled, unfocused development can only be detrimental to White Rock and its residents.
Finishing off the town centre area would be prudent, in order to provide uniformity to the uptown look and to provide the much needed infrastructure improvements that are long overdue.
Medium-rise structures make a lot of sense outside of the uptown area so as to increase the density within our city and provide much needed rental units. The increased density should also help offset the velocity of property tax increases.
If the property taxes are increasing above that rate of inflation, then something is wrong with the city budget. I will push to make sure that the city budget does not increase above the rate of inflation.
